Sheikh Dr. Majid Al Qassimi is a founding partner at SOMA MATER where he serves as independent change agent, driving initiatives for a sustainable food future in the Middle East.
As a strategic advisor on food security and sustainability, he collaborates with both private sector entities and governments to catalyze innovative solutions. Dr. Al Qassimi earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Saint Istvan University in Budapest, Hungary.
With over a decade of experience in the UAE government, his work spans conservation, biodiversity, environmental policy, global trade, and food and agriculture. This extensive background enables him to adopt a holistic, "whole-of-country" approach to food security while also tackling technical challenges and opportunities within sustainability and food systems.
A passionate advocate for STEM careers, Dr. Al Qassimi is dedicated to inspiring youth and advancing veterinary education in his country. As one of the nation’s first veterinarians, he actively supports the field through public speaking, curriculum development, and raising awareness about veterinary science.
