Steven Braekeveldt is a global executive who has dedicated his career to proving that profitability and positive impact can—and should—go hand in hand. He has brought this philosophy to leadership roles across the banking and insurance sectors around the world.

From 2007 to 2024 he steered Continental Europe and in the last years Ageas Portugal for the 200-year-old Ageas Group, the Brussels-based insurance innovator celebrated for its sustainability agenda. He was elected best CEO of the year in Portugal as well best communicator in the same country. Before Ageas, he held senior posts at ING, Fortis, and other blue-chip institutions, shaping strategy across the banking and insurance landscape on three continents.

A lifelong learner, Steven holds seven university degrees; four in law, earned at institutions in several countries. His boundless curiosity fuels a steady flow of articles and essays, and he proudly describes himself as a novelist, a regenerative preacher, a travelling farmer, a collector of stories, an action focussed dreamer, a teacher and a pupil.
